Our Story

For 40 years, Wheatland Title Company has been the title expert our customers can rely on for any and all of their real estate title needs. Founded by John D. Ammons in 1982, we have always prided ourselves on our expertise and professionalism in everything that we do. Our team knows you are trusting us to do your work accurately and efficiently, and we do everything we can to accommodate your needs and exceed your expectations.

Today, John is still at the helm as our company’s president, and we have locations around Illinois to serve you. Furthermore, there are four additional Illinois title companies under the WTC umbrella – Crites Title (Mattoon and Charleston), Livingston County Abstract (Pontiac), Standard Title (Kankakee) and American Title (Sycamore) – and we are ready to deliver for you. We will always continue to explore further growth opportunities to serve our customers even better.
